On July 3^rd, in the presence of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the 10th of Ramadan Railway project officially opened its trial operation period. This was thanks to the joint efforts of China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC), AVIC International Holding Corporation（AVIC INTL）, China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) Sifang Co.,Ltd., Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. (SZMC) and the consortium of China Huaxin Post and Telecom Technologies Co., Ltd. and CASCO, as well as other companies that took part in the construction. Liao Liqiang, the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, attended the opening ceremony as a distinguished guest.

As a significant achievement representing practical cooperation along the Belt and Road Initiative, the 10th of Ramadan Railway is the first electrical light rail transit system in Egypt, and even the first in Africa. It covers a distance of 70 kilometers and features 12 stations. The consortium of CREC and AVIC INTL served as the general contractor for the engineering procurement construction, while China Huaxin and CASCO provided combined communication, control, and signal system integration solutions for the project, plus end-to-end services that included system design, material supplies, equipment installation, testing, acceptance and a 12-year maintenance guarantee. Thanks to their professional and efficient integration capabilities on international construction projects, China Huaxin ensured the on-time delivery of the communication and control system, thus assisting the general contractor in making sure the railway was put into operation on schedule.

During the opening ceremony, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected the Adly Mansour Station (the largest station along the line, and the largest transfer station in the Middle East), looked over the overall roadmap as well as the construction progress of the LRT project, and then took the train from Adly Mansour station to Badr station.

As the first major project after the full industrial chain of China’s rail transit system began operations in Egypt, "Chinese design", "Chinese solutions", "Chinese equipment" and "Chinese technology" soon become indispensable to the success of the project. For China Huaxin's part, it was able to apply all of its experience gained from the construction, operation, maintenance and training of other overseas projects, and deliver a qualified communication and control system within two years, one that lives up to European Union and other relevant international standards, despite the epidemic currently raging throughout the world. This truly is a shining example of "China speed".

The 10th of Ramadan Railway Project is another high-quality overseas project forged by China Huaxin. Amid the construction process, although faced with a shortened project duration, strict requirements from employers and supervisors, various design changes and several other challenges, the China Huaxin Egypt team were still able to complete the works as scheduled along every key milestone of the construction process. For instance, the team succeeded in conducting a " sightseeing trial run of the engine" in November 2021, and were successful in their cold-run, power-transmission and hot-run milestones on January 14, March 27 and June 15, 2022. The project team worked relentlessly to lay a solid foundation for the opening of the railway. In consequence, they were able to satisfy their employers and gained the recognition and trust of both supervisors and general contractors, further building China Huaxin's good brand image of being a "professional technical service contractor in the field of rail transit communication."
